First Impressions : Google Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL

Now people can afford a phone with excellent camera present on Pixel 3 and 3 XL, but in a different name 3a and 3a XL.

Both the siblings pixel 3 and Pixel 3a are stocked with almost same performance. Google has promised that Pixel 3a and 3a XL cameras will give the same performance as the cameras in the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. It’s a delight for the customers that they can afford a best camera at lesser price.

The camera hardware and software are also same as it’s elder sibling Pixel 3. The single 12.2-megapixel rear camera boast of dual-pixel phase detection autofocus, an f/1.8 aperture, and optical as well as electronic image stabilisation.

The use AI and Night sight view in their cameras makes Google phones a top notch camera phones in the segment. As same as Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, this model also gets unlimited storage in Google drive.

Google has ditched wireless charging and water resistant for this model, and use of snapdragon 670 shows clearly how Google has done cost cutting tactics.

Pixel 3a and 3a xl get polycarbonate bodies rather than the dual-textured glass rears of the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. Both the models have only 1 camera at front losing wide angle camera that both the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL have. They have bottom firing speakers.

The two new phones are both available in Clearly White and Just Black in India.

The Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL have 3.5mm headphone socket.

The new phones have larger batteries than their sibling models. The Pixel 3a has a 3000mAh unit and the Pixel 3a XL has a 3700mAh. Both phones come with 18W chargers.

The mid-range SoC seemed more than powerful enough to handle the stock Android 9.0 UI and Google’s default apps. There’s the same 4GB of RAM when it comes to storage only 64GB is available.

Priced at Rs. 39,999 and Rs. 44,999 respectively, these new models will still be out of reach for many buyers. It will all come down to the camera quality, the stock Android experience (with Android Q coming soon), and the Google brand.

If people are planning to buy flagship model under 50000 INR, they can wait till One plus7 releases.
